Oral dryness

A mouth too dry to speak, swallow, or sleep through.

Oral dryness is easy to treat as a minor complaint until a man cannot get through a sentence, a meal, or the medicines he has already been given. The tongue sticks. Water helps for a minute. At night, the dryness wakes him, or the rules of his kidney care tell him not to drink. Swallowing a prostate tablet becomes its own small ordeal. Medrhans gave this problem a department of its own so the answer would not be misfiled as another urology capsule.

SENSIMIST is a 50 ml sugar-free oral spray. The MRP is ₹415. The composition, in the weights the house published, is ginger 320 mg, fennel 370 mg, tulsi 200 mg, cardamom 160 mg, aloe 160 mg, thyme 160 mg, and lemon 0.3 ml. The dose is two or three sprays at a time, three times a day. That is not once daily, and it is not a capsule to line up with breakfast. The house describes it as the world’s first of its kind. That flag belongs to this bottle alone. It is not a slogan for the rest of the company.

What the spray is written to do is immediate and local. Lubricate the mouth. Leave a hydrating film. Help a patient swallow medicines and stay comfortable through dialysis, through benign prostate care, through lower urinary symptoms, overactive bladder, and prostate cancer treatment. The indications name xerostomia, including dryness brought on by disease or by drugs, less thirst and comfort during dialysis, easier swallowing of prostate medicines, and support when fluids are restricted at night. The house describes the spray as non-systemic and suitable in chronic kidney disease. Suitable does not mean it replaces CKD KETO-DS. It means a man on a careful fluid plan is not being handed a systemic tablet for a dry mouth.

There is no 25 ml, no 100 ml, and no second spray to confuse with this one. The department looks short because the list is short. A clinic that came for a dry mouth should land on one bottle, with a picture of the bottle, a dose, and a price. Three times a day, two or three sprays, 50 ml, ₹415. Sugar-free is the word on the pack. Keep it. A man who is already counting carbohydrates does not need a syrup invented in the margin of an order.

The other departments remain neighbours, not substitutes. Urology holds the tablets for flow, urgency, and the enlarged gland. Uro-oncology holds the leuprolide depot. Nephrology holds the ketoanalogue. A man may need the spray because of those treatments. The order should still say SENSIMIST, and it should say how many bottles. Write to Plot No. 77, Road No. 03, Himapuri Colony, Mansoorabad, Hyderabad 500068, Monday to Saturday, 10:00 to 18:00 IST, or call +91 89856 59608. The mouth is small. The interruption it causes is not.
